Many boats come with a hose that is screwed in place of the drain plug. Ski boats, Mastercraft, use to come standard with them.
You can get a pipe thread hose end that fits the drain plug. Attach a length of QUALITY hose and attach a brass end with cap on the other end.
It's a Done Deal Did it on my Cigarette and Donzi before.

Don't know what you got for a plug but on my new 8 qt.stock pan it is NOT pipe thread it is 12mm by 1.75 threads and seals with and O ring something like a car and I found in the summit book a drain plug that has a valve on it (open -closed)it's called Fumoto oil drain valve. If you get it make sure it has the N on the end of the part number as this has the nipple and you just hook a 3/8 hose to it and then make up a cap with the stuff from auto parts store.

Mercruiser makes an oil drain hose kit that includes a transom drain plug with a cable attached to the oil drain hose. You just take out the transom drain plug and pull out the oil drain hose. There is a small plug in the end of the hose to let the oil out. Works great although I have heard of some problems with leakage at the oil pan plug. It is a two piece unit sealed with an o-ring. It allows the hose to swivel when pushing it back in through the transom drain hole. Kinda pricey, too. About $50. You will need to know the thread size of your oil pan drain. Late models are metric, older ones are 1/2". I don't know what year they changed. Maybe someone else does.

I thought Merc made them standard from 2000 on up. Friend with a 2001 has it and it came standard on my sonic.
Worked great, a little slow, of course you know to warm the oil, but no mess.

Rex Marine (909) 392-7300 or Eddie Marine (909) 945-2830 sell a Quick oil change kit for 18$. This kit contains a 42" hose which is fastened to the oilpan instead of the drain plug. No mess at all, oil changes done in 5 minutes, just make sure that the oil is REALLY hot when you drain, otherwise it takes hours.......
