Carb 454 to 502 MPI
Hey Guys
Looking to replace my tired Gen 4 454's with 2001 502's.
They are a complete engines with 75 hr. on them. I'm wondering about the wiring.....can I plug them in....or do I need additional wiring?
Also fuel delivery.....the carb 454 has the mechanical pump on the block. Where is the MPI fuel pump located? In the tank?
Any helpful advice is appreciated!

[B]I just put a 2001 454 mpi in my 1991 boat it went pretty smooth,It will plug in to your wire harness the pump is on the engine just make sure new motors are aligned right.I measured my old mounts and adjusted the new ones like them worked fine. Only problem I had was the power steering lines where they connect to the steering arm were different just check to make sure they will work if not use your old lines it is alot easier to change when the engine is out of the boat.I found out after it was in the boat ...I also had a carb motor and the fuel injection is nice start and go ...Good luck with the install ...If you have any ? you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks Raven
I just talked with Jo Nunez at Pantera and he said pretty much what you did. Thanks for the tip on the power steering line.....I'll check that out.
