Cord, I still have the stock arrangement that doesn't seam to charge ENOUGH at an idle (at night).Daytime its fine 2000rpm at night it's fine. Just idling in no wake zones at night is the problem. Thats why i'm going to lager , single wire alts.

Merc mechanic I know sez attach the 10 ga. output wire to the output terminal and just tape and tie back other wires. They're just not use with single wire applications. B = Battery (output)
EXC = exciter lead to switched ignition
S = non switched ignition (battery hot )
L2 = not needed
P = not needed
E = not needed

I believe that merc also installs a ground. Not really sure if it's needed though...
