Ram air
How many of you with hood scoops have them sealed to the carb to get the most of the ram air effect. I am finding that I get a lot more RPM with the ram air. I am going to seal the scoop to my carb because at about 90 the air pressure in the engine compartment blows the cushions off of the rear bench seat - when this happens I lose about 200 RPM and the fuel/air mixture gets real messed up.
Spent some time dialing in the carb this weekend. It is close but there are still a few lean spots.

anytime you can give the engine cooler air to take in going to run better...I always run the blower whenever engine running, have 1 drawing air out and 1 bringing in cooler air...race cars always seal the carb to scoop and yes sometimes will lean them out if they are on the edge..

Anytime you can get more air into the engine you will create more HP. The problem with EFI that doesn't use an O2 sensor is it won't know that it is now running lean.
