Weiand 177 or 256, which kits?
I should probably talk to Holley on this one, but I thought I'd check in with the brain trust here first.
I'm going to be adding a blower to the 454 Mag that came out of my 242LS. The engine has a fairly new RHS top end on it, so now I'm looking to up the ante some, power-wise.
Unless I find a deal on something used, I'll need to buy new. The trouble is that I'm not finding a valid part number for the 177 or 256 blowers in a marine app. I found them in older catalogs for Holley/Weiand, but the part numbers no longer come up as valid. Part number for the 177 is 6534-1 (not sure on the 256... and not sure it would even fit under my hatch which is a big consideration). My concern has to do with snout length, pulley depth, and boost (I think the automotive kits come with a 125% overdriven pulley setup).
The plan will more than likely center on the 177 with a 4500 adapter and a 1050 Dominator (mimicking the 525sc). A cam change along with the blower should make for a very nice package.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks!

If you have to go new, and have to clear the hatch, I would look into the blower shop 250 series blower. Its a nicer piece than the 256 Weiand and 250 B&M in my opinion. If you are running RHS heads, and a better cam, etc, I would steer towards the 250 line of blowers over the 177.
Anyone know of any 242LS blower installations beyond a 525sc/177?
