depends, at 6000 I am sure they are 700 hp or close to it, but if I don't have the TQ to get them there and have to use a small prop it's useless.... the other engines made big TQ and carried the heavy boat great, these don't make the TQ down low....

possible, not sure, to be honest speed is not the ending goal, reliability is and when I decided to build new power I decided lets make them better, went backwards... if I can get some sort of gain for the 30,000+ I spent I will be happy and leave it alone, a simple cam change will not make me hit a crazy speed number so I don't see it making it worth while, lab props see what it does and decide then...
Blowers would have been done long ago if I thought the TRS would take it, they wont....

A cam change to lower the curve would help your cruise and allow bigger wheels giving you the same speed at lower rpms, the less the engine goes round and round the longer it lives to a point.... As long as your not lugging it...

true, puts me about where I was, so labbing these props to get 5500 and approx. 73-75 mph would make me happy then I don't have to pull engines and spend even more money, I am not gonna go for all the work and another 2000.00 to gain 1-2 mph over what I can get with labbing props much cheaper...

240 at .050" in a 540 is a stump puller cam. Especially with good heads. schit, in a 10:1 454 it will pull buildings at 3500-4000rpm.

You can tune your power curve up or down the rpm scale with a intake change also. Talk to Bob he should be able to give you advice on what intake would move your torque curve down 1000-1200 rpm. or what modifications you should have done to yours.
