Have you considered a second stage pump for your intercooler?

Hadley, once the power level gets up there, running a dedicated water pickup for the intercooler, or running a dual stage pump is a good idea. You can always monitor water pressure on your existing setup first to see if it's necessary, but it's pretty easy to put a new thru hull pickup in now while the motor's out.

Thank you, I am going to research this a bit while the motors out.

When my boat had M3s it ran a separate pickup to help feed the seawater pump. Off the pressure side it ran a T fitting to the intercooler then dump out the sides. Not sure if it was a real good setup but it did work.

My KE 675s with 871s ran dual stage pumps and worked well. Only used the drive pickup for feeding it.

CP sells a1-1/4" steel hose connector that has a 1/2" NPT female right in the middle. I ran that right out of my sea pump and used the side port to feed my intercooler. Then I ran the inch and a quarter hose through all three of my oil coolers right into the ProCharger crossover.I then installed a water pressure bypass valve on the half inch NPT port on the pro charger crossover where it used to feed the intercooler and ran The Bypass valve hose through the transom. Worked well.

Stanless marine has the best and most beefy crossover..if your intercooler is taped into it thats the one to use.you can drill and tap that one
