Throttle adjustment
I have Kiekahfer (sp?) controls. One engine was idling too high so I turned back the idle. Throttle control would not let the idle down so I adjusted the cable to force the idle down, did this at the carburator end. Idle went down but now my throttles are way out of sync with each other. What is the proper procedure for adjusting the throttles? Thanks in advance for any responses!

good luck.
mine have been perfectly aligned with each other a total of six days in ten years.
"close" is good enough for me.
Make sure all of your plugwires are on tight.
Set the timing on both engines.
Set the idle mix screws on both carbs and set the idle speeds.
Set the throttles so that they let both engines go to full idle.
Open the throttles all the way up to make sure the full range is allowed.
Then go ride. At cruise, check the position of the levers. Stop and adjust the "low" one up a turn of so on the cable end. Visually make sure it still will open the throttle all the way.
Retest. Readjust until you have a match at cruise speed.
Idle position doesn't matter as long as the travel does ensure the carbs go to full idle position.
Wide Open position doesn't matter as long as the travel does ensure the carbs go to full open position.
Cruise position is the most important since you need to be able to find the correct "detent" at cruise to synchronize the engine speeds with each other.
As I said: good luck. I just tend to get tored of adjusting and get used to wherever they are. Currently on the Formula I am almost two clicks off at cruise.
I cheat on the cruiser and engage the synchronizer. Then I just move one lever and the computer matches the other to it.
