Is 35 to much
I wanted to see if any one could help me with a timing question. I just finished building a motor it is a 454 stroked with a weiand 177 blower. It seemed to run well on the dynoat 35 degrees. I dont want to set it to high and risk detonation but I dont want to set it to low where I can burn a valve. Any suggestions? As always thanks for your help!

Timing
The key to finding the best timing is to back off until power drops and then return to the lowest timing figure that gives full power. You never want to run more timing than is necessary. If the engine runs as good with 30 degrees advance there would be no reason to run it at 35 degrees advance!

i have a a similar setup 454mag .030 over with a 174 blower making 5psi of boost. It was setup to run at 33* i asked my engien biulder, Bruce Dudley if taht was too much and he felt it was ok and not on eth edge of detonation. I will be running 92+ octante gas at all times just to be on the safe side.
