Head Gaskets

X2 on the Copper Coat with MLS gaskets, especially if you're not quite sure on the deck surfaces.
Having said that, sometimes we can "out-tech" ourselves and create problems that don't exist. There's no reason you can't use a conventional gasket on your build with 100% success. No need for MLS gaskets.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help. I think I'm really leaning toward the conventional FelPro head gaskets.
I agree 100% about creating problems with new technology sometimes.

i know a guy who races a small block ford and sprays a ton of nos,he uses mls gaskets and reuses them whenever he needs to remove a head.he uses a spray sealer[cant remember what brand]and it works so i guess if one feels the need to use a sealer it won,t hurt.me,i follow the directions the manufacturer includes with the gaskets.i have an engine that uses copper gaskets along with a wire&reciever groove.i used hylomar as a sealant but now i just use a smear cote of the right stuff around the water ports with no problems.

Mopar vehicles use MLS gaskets. When R&R ing a cylinder head, their bulletin specifies using a mopar spray adhesive on the new gaskets.
I had one engine with cometic mls that i copper coated gaskets, the other with uncoated fel pro mls, no leaks on either after 4 seasons

all mls gaskets are not all created the same, fel pro&cometic incorperate a sealing agent on most of their mls gaskets.most others making mls gaskets do not apply a sealing agent.also, mls gaskets have been around for a long time but today,s are better than ever.back in the old days we used to spray silver paint on mls gaskets as a sealer.
