Man all this valvetrain failure talk has me thinking you should just take merc lobes and widen them. Would be nice to have peace of mind from knowing the cam combo did an endurance cycle at some point.

If you want to use your current pushrods, you'll need to have same exact base circle as your current cam. Having a cam reground removes material, not adds it, so you'll have to re measure for new (longer) pushrods. Just a heads up.

239/246, 646/639, 112 cl, and 7/4 swap? On the desk top dyno it looks pretty good for what I am looking for.
I did this one not long ago with the Lunati 238/248 .639 - .629

It might have pulled a couple hundred more rpm with a bigger carb, but it was peaking at 5500.

Why is it that the torque numbers start to fall off at 4,400 rpm's? May be a stupid question but I'm not a builder so hey gota learn some how.

Torque will usually peak 1200 +/- 100 to 200 before HP peak.

Torque is measured. HP is equated from Torque and RPM..

Thank you for the reply. On the desk top dyno it also quit at just past 5500. Hoping the Nickerson
carb will give a few hundred more rpm's. If not I guess new heads will be next.

Don't bet on it. You'll probably lose a few hundred rpm with that carb.

Looks fine to me if that's the case. However, just like human nature, when you personally have an unsatisfactory experience with something it persuades you to use something else.

I didn't mean use the same came. Just the same ramps but widened, on a new cam. Going to bigger dia cores and scaling the whole deal actually would be best.
