I ran the Ultradyn version that was slightly bigger in my 454 without any reversion issues, even with Captains choice. I wasn't suggesting the cam just trying to show what Mercruiser used to get 440hp. Thinking the 224 may be a little small to make 450hp.

I had a 224 [email protected] and 530ish lift on a 110lsa in my 306 SBF in the little searay I had.
It had GLM cast iron center riser manifolds. I welded about 3" extensions on the inner pipes (they had pressed in 2.5" exhaust pipe I welded to)

I'm not saying it's right, just that that's what I did and it ran really strong for several years. Actually, it's still running great for the guy I sold it to.

Truth be told, I'd bet it has slight reversion, probably just not enough to cause a catastrophic failure.

I will say, the exhaust sounded really nice and choppy with the 110LSA.

I would guess close to the stock 502 415 hp. Same cam correct? I think peak torque is around 2,900. Personally id prop it for about 4,800 max.

Small cam, small valves, carb is minimal. Maybe 400hp.

The cam is small and the carb is small. Its stock 454/502 mag roller cam and the same cfm carb as 454/502 mag.

Carbed 502mag was 390hp at the crank.

Should be a nice clean and simple reliable package. Without a doubt it could be woken up with just a cam change but.... Heads should support another .100 lift I would think and prolly pick up an extra 40 plus horse easily without hurting reliability etc. Regardless I think everyone's on board with the 400 Plus or minus. I would imagine comp is near 9:1? At least you can go out and enjoy the day. Drink some beer, looks at some bikinis, and call it a day. Leave the tools in the shop.

I know this. Desktop dyno is showing 415 hp 480 tq at 4500 399hp 418 tq 5000. But low end at 2000 is 612tq Don't know how accurate it is and don't know what exhaust would flow like so set it as open exhaust small tube headers. With large tube I'm in the 460hp 4500 425 5k. What cam would you recommend for this combo with the stock exhaust that is reversion safe
