They seem to have a lot of problems with those.

Bah humbug. I guess the safest way would be to use their kit (Holley) but use an Aeromotive pump instead?

How about the FAST XFI Marine ECU?

http://www.efisupply.com/fast_marine.htm.

Self Learning Auto Tuning VE Table

The Self Learning Auto Tuning VE Table is a new automated process option that makes for quick and easy fuel mapping with the XFI 2.0™. However, this option can be turned off should the user prefer to do the tuning manually. The self learning mode can also be used to speedily and accurately populate a base tune and then turned off for more fine tuning or custom control by the user – it’s all up to you when and how you want to use it. The C-ComŽ software features enable conditions to turn it on/off automatically and also has an overall enable/disable feature. Requires suitable PC for use.

Technology

The XFI 2.0™ features Qwik Tune™ Technology that allows ECU programming without a laptop. Preprogram up to four different EFI MAPs. You can optimize one setting for everyday driving, others for racing conditions and still another for improved fuel economy. Simply select the tune-up you need with the flip of an in-car switch. Other features include on-board diagnostics, EZ Test™ Indicator Lights, five bar MAP sensing and controls for your power adder and torque converter.

The fast kit is nice but about $1k more than the Sniper. For my little ski boat that's significant.

Just an opinion, I think the Fast software is one of the most user friendly ones out there, straight forward, everything is done in real time, no stopping to load a tune, no useless crap that you would never use in a boat.

The sniper is just a glorified tbi unit per say and the fuel distribution would have to be extremely poor. The only thought that comes to my mind would be like a very tiny shower but with 8 huge shower heads spraying water all the over the place. Do not care what engine builder is using it or holley throwing free stuff to market it so an engine builder can talk the town up about it. You can throw a SC on a carb motor and make huge power as well that mentioned in the video. The EFI tune was not a plug an play as I am sure it took a while to final tune all that. The same goes for the carb and ignition timing, play with it until you make best peak numbers. Just saying

And old tbi units are one of the poorest efi systems you can run in a marine app period and the sniper reminds of a glorified version of that.
