Just bringing back this subject up! 1227 hours by the way still running strong! Burnt 1 pint of oil in 31 hours up to now this summer!
So, for those in the engine building thing, when speaking about a "full rebuilt" on engines, what are the components to be changed and wich one you keep?
Bottom i would assume changing: bearings, pistons ans rings, plus oil pump
Top: lifter push rod rockers valve spring and valves?

Keeping crank, connecting rod and piston pins?

What other things would need to be changed? Do we need to go with crank cap bolts? Connecting rod bolts and nuts? Head bolts? Valve seats and retainer???

What else i dont know of or forget?

When mine got to 462 hrs it threw a valve. All rebuilt block up with new water pump, alternator, coupler, etc... I was at about 10 grand plus headers.
