Here is an update. Engines were both torn down last week. The morels will be sent back for warranty claim then posted for sale.

For the new build I went with the scorpion scp4014 roller rockers and Johnson 2126bbr lifters. Both just came in today. They are going to the mechanic tonight and he will start setting up geometry over the weekend. Hopefully old push rods work. If not I will be overnighting new ones. Hoping to be on the water next weekend.

Welp the old push rods didn't work. So the ones I had in there will be for sale shortly. They are Manton 0.120 wall. I'll have to measure length. Ended up ordering new comp cam hi tech push rods 0.135 which I'm told is made by trend.

As an aside anyone use the scorpion scp4014 marine rockers. They are beefy as hell. Just want to make sure they fit under stock valve covers. I'm thinking they should. Merc now uses them in there new blue motors.

Thanks.

It seems like the harder you try to do things right the more things can go backwards. Best of luck!

My gf reminds me of that weekly.

"Why did you touch the damn thing. It was running fine to begin with".

Kinda like painting. Just paint it like a wheelbarrow and it turns out great. Take every step and precaution and go by the book amd something always goes wrong. Lol
