Lets see. I've had the distibutors totally apart, and the weight systems are in great shape. (strange looking little weight dudes, but perfect).

I might want to check the secondaries. Its possible (I guess) just because I've not run the boat much, and the return is only with the vacuum springs in the diaphram, any varnish could cause them to stay open just a tad.

.........thanks for the inputs.

Default save some hassle

why are you running vacuum secondaries? Why not run mechanical secondaries? I never use vacuum secondaries unless it is a bone stock motor.

Panther. These are the original 1986 KAAMA engines from Hardin Marine. 454's/450hp, and came with the 9029 marine carbs. Not sure why no mechanicals were put in back then. (vac sec's and elec choke...etc).

Many EFI's have this high (hot) idle speed built in to the program.

Somewhat higher idle speed when hot is due to the hot engine oil which has a lower viscosity. When the oil cools the idle speed should return to normal. This is more apparent on boats with oil temperature gauges.

Update. (And thanks for the replies).

Last weekend I was out, didn't touch a thing and there was not a problem. It could very well be, that because I've not really used the boat all that much (accept for the past 2weekends), I had some "stuff" in the carb that needed to get cleaned out.

Granted now I did not run above 35/3700 last week (still respecting mother nature......and my wife, being her first time out), but it was fine.
