I wanna say a 3 is 1 or 1.5 shorter than a trs. A #4, is about 5.5", shorter than a 3/3a.

Ssm 3 is 24.311
Trs is 24 7/8 iirc

Nope No 4A. However some had small shaft 19 splines and they were upgraded to 26 Spline. Parts were always tough for the 4's because they just didn't make many and then stopped. Short span of years.

Yep. I have small shaft 4's. They use the same lower gearsets as the big shaft drives if i recall. The upper gears are different due to the polygon vertical shaft . Some 4's came right from merc with big propshafts

Ran 84 once for me and I believe Kevin saw it there too with prop work. I cheated with 55* and good gas. Imco's don't make it a fair comparison.

But the 40 with Konrads runs 75 with 630HP 540's. For Sale too!
