Anybody running a well designed solid roller, see major lash changes at 65 hours with a new aluminum head?

For the record i never said that, I may have implied it..... But Tim back to your exhaust, IMO and JUST MO. a N/A motor will benifit greatly from the correct exhaust that will promote Scavenging exhaust gases from the Cyl. BUT only if you have the correct valve timing events to work with the exhuast.. Back in my flat bottom Sanger 454 tunnel ram set up Basset made some awesome exhaust scavenging headers, but hard to find ones to work within the confines of an enclosed engine compartment. so I digress.. My point being that with all the of your other power issues IMO a cam and exhaust change may be in order.

Or at least a cam change and head work since it seems his valves are being beat through the heads.

I was running ductile exhaust seats in my brodix would lose lash at a steady 4k rpm. Changed the seats to tungsten steel and problem was solved. Intake was always perfect with the lash.

Was a ultra dyne 276/284 .750 lift after lash.

Your doing this now, because you did not change cams when everybody told you too. you did however enjoy a season of boating, which you may not have if you had everything ripped apart. As for the whole exhaust issue.. I have SM's to go on my new motor. Even if I was building a much bigger motor, I still wouldnt be using headers. I have heard too many horror stories. I would rather give up a few hp and a couple mph over giving up a season and a lot of cubic dollars because a header cracked and killed a motor, Its generally more fun to go slow on a boat than to sit on the dock watching boats or sit in the garage fixing them.

That's no excuse that "doing now because I was told to change cams" first of all I am not sure if that's the issue yet, second... At the time nobody could provide proof of issues to me, third... I pad bob m to spec me a long term successful build and it's been everything but that!!!!!! I love how this gets turned on me, my fault for listening to the guy that was highly recommended to me and it's my fault... Sick of hearing that, I could have dropped in a crate engine with better results...
