Found this the other day, may have come from this site. I know less HP motor but still interesting exhaust test. Coming from the Bike/Car world we have always been big on exhaust tuning. What goes in has to come out.

Anyway as for the maybe other issue, that sucks. At least you should be good at pulling your motors Tim

Wonder what would have more to see. Marine kinetics R&D department, or Mercury Marine's. My guess is multi million dollar operation, might be a bit more advanced, than a kitchen table, a laptop, and sitting in on a seminar once a year at PRI.

Bob used to love bashing mercury engines to me on the phone. Sorry, but 90 percent of people who have mercury power, are out boating. Not spending weeks on the dyno trying to figure out why their drop shipped parts combo isnt making the power it should. Or , if they do make it into the boat, its a crap shoot if its gonna stay together for 100 hours.

I bet if Bob sold exhaust he would recommend it more often............
Not sticking up for him but when I've worked with him on combo's he has always asked me what parts I use, especially exhaust. We've reviewed combos for intake restricted engines and exhaust restricted systems. In a recent build, the exhaust was scrapped because the larger cam wouldn't have benefited from the small exhaust.

Maybe the limitations were reviewed, maybe not. I wasn't on the call when it was spec'd. :-)
