only time I been around one of those aerosols, was on a blow thru setup with Mike Tkach. They worked very well in that application, and Roger from C&S, talked us through some tuning on them, while on the dyno.

Rebuild the Q-Jets , if you arent comfortable with that . Send them to Allstate Carb, they will do an excellent job.
I rebuild them all the time and they work great, ( been rebuilding the damn things from the time they came out ).

I agree! those carbs were on so many cars back when I was wrenching for a living (passenger and performance cars along with marine applications) they preformed very well. I have rebuild so many of them in the day(not because they were a bad carb) but through normal use, contaminated fuel, sunken floats, leaking main well cross drilled passages, etc. but think about how many engines used the Q-jet carbs back then!

I rebuilt a few year old summit brand rebuilt marine quadrajet this year. The rear well plugs where leaking and the air door screw was totally loose. Fixed that beatch right up. The old couple said they never enjoyed their boat as much as they have this yr. They are almost 80 yrs old !

Lol. I bet !

edit in: just remembered, one of the idle mixture screws was bent big time. You should have seen my face as I watched it wobble out.

On a slight thread jack here, what's the difference between a NA carb and one suited for blow through? I asked QF if my 850M could be set up in a carb box and they said no.
