At this point I am seriously considering not even taking a chance on this "Custom" Cam and going with something off the shelf. When this project started reliability was the Highest of priority with a stable long life valve-train and a target HP of 800HP was the Goal@6000rpm. I was willing to sacrifice max hp for reliability
Motor is sitting in my shop with short block assembled, camshaft installed ready to bolt together. Unfortunately I have lost interest in the project. I let myself get led along by Bobs BS for over a year and finally had to distance myself from him. What I found interesting was how quick he was to point to others for his repeated failures to deliver as promised. I have since spoke with a couple of individuals Bob pointed to with fault and it turns out Bob is the one not them who didn't deliver. Not a Fan of MK done with this jerk off.
Seriously. Wait til MT see's this. Cam specs sounds like most all others give or take. 800 hp NA? 13:1 comp..

On the 555cid; ran at 5900rpm WOT. Made over 850 at 6300 on Brad's dyno. Have a short video of it idling but cannot post it, says it's too large; it idles at 1100rpm, 700rpm in gear with no surge. Doesn't matter which carbs either; same idle using three different sets (differing CFM), it's easy to tune. I should mention that the Comp Cams steel billet cam was ground on a 114 LSA. I think that's where the boost was gained and where the power was lost in this combination.

555ci JC Performance/Smith Power
Brodix 2x heads
Roots blown
6lbs boost
262/272
112 LSA
109 ICL
708/708
Crane solid roller cam, lobe designs from track roller profiles.
Using same cam in a 573 now
Tried Comp Cams same specs, made more boost but less power so numbers don't always tell the whole story.

Thats pretty good info. Just for the heck of it, I put your combo in my cam software program. For your combo, solid roller, 555ci, 6100RPM, 6lbs boost, the cam it spit out spec wise

262/274 , 113 LSA , .724/.725 lift , thats figuring .016 lash.

Seems like whomever picked that cam, may have known a thing or two. Bet it made pretty good power too. I did use the BB2X flow data, with CNC ported chambers. Not sure if you have that, or any chamber work, either way, fun stuff.

Would be interesting to see dyno numbers with those already listed, assuming they've been dyno'd

I have almost the same setup as you do. 540 -315 AFR heads. The cam is 246*-250* at .050 >663-.654 lift. 112 lc. Can you post what you replaced that MK cam with and what the result it made? I am going to rebuild and might make a change.
