1981 Scarab twin 330 power steering valve body is bad we believe.
New valve body in hand need to remove old and install new.
This is the small hydraulic unit that has four hydraulic lines going to it. It sits on top of the steering arms and the cable coming from the helm.
Any tips changing this out will be appreciated.
thanks

I have changed them before, the old style(4 lines) usually replaced by the newer 2 line one, not to bad if you can get to it, some boats real bad some not. the old style valve been discontinued for years, not sure which you have(hopefully the new style) the old style has two main parts that come off together, new style only one, line use O-ring fittings vs flair on the old, so have to change the lines, not a big deal, you can change the outlet port on the pump to later style with O-rings so you have late model hose with no adapter. to remove only couple of bolts and lines, pull out cable and that it for the most part, if buried under deck and twin engine going to be tight.
