Default Merc EFI Computers

Someone told me that a Merc system is set up similar to a car ODB II system with the exception of emissions control. Is this true?
Does OTC or Snap-On make cartridges and cables for Merc computers? If not, is there an aftermarket scan tool for a Merc computer that is reasonably priced?

Rinda actually makes the Merc scan tool. They sell either the Merc tool or another named tool but they are exactly the same tool, same price.

I have the QuickSilver Scanner. It works great. It will give you all the information you will ever need.

Blown Formula,

I hate to disagree with you BUT the back of my scanner is clearly marked O.T.C. I am sure they make it for Mercuiser and just slap their name on the front. Check out this link.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Snap On sell tools made by OTC on their trucks?

Rinda makes scan tools for Mercruiser. I have one. Others may also but my Rinda tech mate which I ordered directly from Rinda technologies (Because they have a two atmosphere capability for blown applications) say Mercruiser on the front of it.
