I have literally tested, cleaned, flushed and changed everything in the cooling system. I'm run out of options. I've changed every culprit in the system, followed every advice from reputable many performance marine shops.

Yes, member tpenfield did, even though his is closed cooling. This will allow air to bleed out before the stat opens the first time, and after that keep it from opening as often

At 200* the water temp alarm should be sounding

the temp alarm does come on if I stay in throttle long enough,

re: the gasket... I've never seen a gasket like that, what's the 4 small holes about? I never removed the old gasket, it seemed fine and I never scraped it off, but I dont see any small holes in it... What are those for? how does it work, what do they do???
