PRO MAX 300 Exhaust
Anyone know of any exhaust options for 98' Pro Max 300s. I'm not looking for performance gains necessarily although they would be a welcome side effect. I want a some more sound out of them like some of the 2.5s. Also, ofcourse, not looking to spend the $$ for an entire mid section. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eric

why don't you just drill the mid-sect. it definitly will make it louder, and u can always weld it back up or just use a freeze plug. i bought a 22' concept c/c a few yrs. ago and thats how the johnson ocean-runner was . still have it , just put a plug in it . got tired of listening to it , not stereo. it had no performance gain eitherway (stock otherwise)

Sounds like a good idea. I've heard people doing that to the 2.5s. Although I am not looking for a performance gain does anyone know if this would degrade performance ? / and where abouts and how big the holes should be ?
Thanks,
Eric

frequentflyer,
Myself and VelocityMike have done this plenty times in the past when we used to have HydroStreams. We would just drill four 1.5inch holes on the back, bottom of the midsection, just above the cavitation plate. Drill two holes, going vertically on one side and then the other two on the other side, on the back of the midsection.
We talked to Jay from Jay Smith Racing in TX. and Sam Baker in IL and Bobs in FL. and they all had a different way to do it. So it doesnt seem that there is a 100% correct way to do it.
We did see an article in Family and Performance Boating in the Sept. 2002 issue that showed step by step how to do it the Bobs Machine Shop way, we have done it that way once now and like it.
