Default Help 454 mag head gaskets

I have a 454 mag mpi and i have a blown head gasket. Does anyone know if the gasket set at Autozone will work? I need a complete top end kit so i can replace my head gaskets.

are there any differences in a marine gasket set and a standard set?

no idea what autozone sells, I would use felpro's for whatever Gen engine yours is, they are different, felpro high perf, marine all same gasket with diff part #'s and pricing, summit or jegs both carry them. Also ck bolts for rust and its a good idea to run a tap down all the threads to make sure they are clean to get correct torque. the bolts that go into water jackets must be sealed, but keep the sealer above threads when installing...good luck..Rob

Mercruiser wants $1300 for a gasket set OMG are they serious?

So instead of giving my money to them I want to find these marine gaskets for my engine? How do I find out what generation engine i have? Since this is the mag mpi the intake is different. Will they have those gaskets to? Exhaust manifold and riser gaskets?

get the serial #.

Felpro does sell those plenum to lower intake gaskets. of course, the intake to head gaskets too.

Full gasket set will be a few hundred or less. How do you like those Merc prices ?

Or if you really want to get this sorted out give BUP a call. He’ll save you more money than spent in the long run.
