Using a stock build sometimes does not work on fresh water cooled engines. Most of my builds I add .002 extra clearance on the two front cylinders and a .0015 on the rest which has worked for me for years, Plate hone is a must using a good hone.

Yes, Dick from More Power is handiling the bottom ends and is well aware that they will be marine blower motors. He has lots of experience with these types of builds and I absolutely trust him to set the tolerances up correctly. It will be nice having the peace of mind that the bottoms ends will be ready for the boost!!

Just to commiserate, I pulled my 502 for a cam change and now the only thing original is the block, crank, and rods. A $500 fix went to $5000 in a heart beat - damn boats! Lol.

ROB - Just don't let More Power chose the cam.
Nothing against them as a builder " BUT" they tend to be a little on the conservative side.
I use Dave Wesseldyke or Performance Eng. both in Jenison.
More power does Good work though.
Just do some research on the cam design.
