Hot Info!!- Globe Rubberworks Impellors
I should make note that as many times as the impellors made by Globe Rubberworks have been discussed here, there has been an omission made in every case!!
Globe does NOT make an impellor that fits the Mercruiser pump that has a flat side on the shaft!!
To fit this pump (all later models) you must order the P/N 2000 AND a pump shaft keyway adapter (merc P/N 28-43037) from either your local dealer or Boatfix when you order the impellor!
Imagine the shock of opening the impellor box and finding a rotor sleeve completely round!! On calling Boatfix, George informed me of the keyway adapter....... the OSO team slipped up here!! The adapter is only $1.00 each.
The Cheapest marine part available!!!

Is there much of a difference from the stock Merc. impeller to these? Is it that they take longer to burn out if accidently run dry?

I got mine from Boatfix.com. The guy who owns it is George Van Parys, aka GVP. He is the major sponsor of Boatered.com, and while the site isn't very geared towards offshore performance, George can answer just about any question you would ever have about Mercs, Volvos, OB's and anything engine and/or electrical.

That is where mine came from !!! Why did George (whom I talked to) not send the adapters??? There should be a warning notice that this adapter is required! George got them right out after I called him, but I now have another wait!

Received 2 Globe impellers yesterday; thought I ordered the wrong ones. Called George and he sent keyways out. I was not aware keyways were needed either.
First time I've used these impellers. Do you guys have experience with them? Same flow? Last longer? (vanes seem thinner than Merc impeller's).
