Kirk was very knowledgable on the TRS and Merc Trans.
Never spoke to him, as I got into TRS in 2019, after he passed.
There is some good ingoodn the website archive. No photo of the Gatling cooler that I could find.
I'm re-building my 280 TRS with Merc Trans. I'll be collating a lot of the Kirk knowledge from his website, his OSO posts, and my own observations. For my own sanity...rather than scouring the TRS posts to find an obscure tidbit I remember reading.
An example, on the Website, Kirk mentions that with new fluids, the TRS pre-loads are obsolete. But does not spec what they should be.
I found in an OSO post, where he mentions 10% additional pre-load for high HP use drives. More research required, but at least some info vs the ether.
Kirk helped a lot of folks out....he will be missed....and I never even knew him.
