Big decision
I'm very close to buying a new boat with either 500 EFI's, or 496 HO's with Whipple Chargers. I'm going to get more speed with less money from the Whippled motors. Does anyone have nightmare stories? My trusted mechanic is telling me to stick with carburated blower motors, but I have others telling me the EFI blowers are very reliable. HELP!!!!!!!!!

If you are going to supercharge a fuel injected engine in any way, the engine needs to go on a dyno with someone that can totally reprogram the ecm and upgrade the fuel system if required while the engine is on the dyno or you are looking for problems. PERIOD!

I would stay away from the 496 x whipple right now. Give the package a little more time. I have heard they are having a hard time keeping pistons together in blown applications. This is grapevine info only but with this type of investment I would be safe not sorry. The 500 EFI's would definatly have better resale down the road too.
I have whippled 502 mags - very reliable but also set up by an expert
