Pretty slick adding extra head bolts. How is a 9.8 block considered a tall deck?

imo,the cam is wrong for a marine engine and the cylinder heads would not be my first choice.with the hyd roller lifters of today i would never go with a solid roller,no need to spin a marine engine to near 7000 rpm.for a drag race or bad azz street car the parts selection is perfect.

Yeah that’s a big cam. I’d do less compression and more boost. They were probably conservative with timing, that’s relatively high compression ratio with no intercooler.
