I think I have myself talked into using this filter mount to redo my 502MPI undersized oil system. AN-10 fittings, internal oil thermostat and cooler ports. Filters before cooler. By time I was looking at a divorced thermostat unit and all the extra AN fittings to make it work, price wasn't that much different to go to this and a standard block adapter. I'll mount it up front like the stockers for easy access.

Available at Summit too:

Not a tent but steel and yes on the blown in insulation, we used to call them Quonset huts when I was a kid for some reason. Army bases used to have a lot, its my buddy's place.

This is a picture from the outside, there is another building here now.

Have a look this converter box built by one of our members. I purchased two of them to interface with a Garmin 7212. Data from both engines show up on chartplotter in any weather. Installed them about five years ago, and are still working fine.

converter box for nmea 2000

I sent them out to Isky to be rebuilt. They have been in the engine since 2006 and they were rebuilt at that time. Just added security. I have 3 sets and the ones I put in the engine came out of an engine with half the time on them. I didn't think I would get them back so soon. I swapped them out last night. All good.
I only want to be waxing paint and polishing stainless steel over the next 5 yrs.

Was reading about the issue you had with the IAC. I had the same exact problem on the engine I posted a few weeks ago. IAC was opening instead of closing... had to repin it and then I was good to go. Too funny!!! Definitely threw me for a loop at first.

they were primarily used and many sold from Quonset Air Force base. It’s a Rhode Island industrial park now. I work there 3-4 days p/week

Cool thank you I never knew why we called them that.

Well now I know why my Dad used to call it them. Maybe at one time he was in one, Korea vet, uncle was WWII.

I only check in here every couple weeks or so these days and I’m always like, “I’m sure Rookie has that **** sorted out by now”. Lol

Keep up the good work! One of the most enjoyable threads atm.
