Default Where is Thermostat Housing on 454 Mag MPI GenVI

Trying to get familiar with engine bay. Manual does not show its location. Is it in the front where pulleys are or somewhere under something.

Serial number is best

Without that, the housing is normally attached to top of intake above the circulating water pump

Another question is there an issue if I go with Stainless Steel vs what looks like oem iron product. Risers/Manifolds are Merc OEM though I think they will need to be replaced. Leaning toward aluminum. Let me know thoughts.

While things are rusty, I don't see anything wrong with the housing. Wire brush and paint and it will be good to go

If your in fresh water then using aluminum or stainless could be used even though there is the dissimilar metals issue. If your in salt water don't even try either

Was worried about that. I plan to use in San Francisco Bay amd Tahoe. I will be flushing each time with salt away I take out in salt water/brackish but get it.

I guess i have to rethink Alum risers and manifolds even with anodes and flushing.
