It is far from drop in and play. You need to move the engine forward to accommodate the transmission.
Also the TRS drive is going sit a lot deeper in the water than an Alpha or Bravo. Between that and the parasitic loss of the trans, you'll prob lose 3-6mph over a Bravo set up.

What Griff says is true! I would sell the TRS and buy bravo 1. Griff do you know bravo 1 vs TRS weight differense?

No significant difference in weight between the drives

That trs drive has the short output shaft that is used with the Merctrans, you would need the input shaft that is used with a borg/Warner c72 trans.

Those used a flex plate instead of a coupler too. Does that 454 have a riveted on tag on the rear of the block pad?

Gotta follow this. I had a 1990 Chris Craft 245 LTD with an OMC 460 King Cobra, and I loved the hell out of that boat.

I miss it so much, wish I never sold it. When I sold it with 400 hours on it, everything worked. Even the 30yr old seats looked brand new. Heated garage stored since new, freshwater only. That carb 460 made the world's most beautiful noises.

God I was so young. 2014 feels like a million years ago.
I love my Formula 292, but that Chris Craft was something special.
