I was told the roots eats 150 hp and the whipple doesn`t , so much more efficient etc etc .blah blahblah so yes I was sucked in by their marketing department and Dustins posts on here about the super duper efficiency of the whipple along with Eddie young saying he gained 100HP swapping just blowers blowers, my experience was not the same.
I noticed a little better acceleration but that could be the 2 extra lbs of boost over the 10-71 . no additional speed top gains.

After the whipples my engines started blowing up, I had a great run with the roots, may not be related at all. but the pie shaped opening in the front of the whipple leads me to wonder on fuel; distribution hence the Tunnel cram with individual injectors in each runner that i`ll be running next
They idle better . No blower noise which is gaYYYY
In retrospect I should have kept the roots.

Edit: mine TBS had an IAC in each one.I know because wiring them in parallel was a pain.

I thought the Roots looked more bad ass than the Whipples too.

Thanks for the honest and real feedback Dan as always! Takes a stand up dude to admit that a huge expensive upgrade didn't pan out like you hoped hahaha. Didn't realize that you had the same blowers I was looking at other than the inlet..rear versus top. That's my opinion too about the looks...the whipples look badass don't get me wrong but I'm old school and a big a$$ roots up in the air just send chills down my spine hahahaha....I think the plan will be this winter to bump the boost a little, redo injection setup, and retune in the spring. It was kinda funny when Finish line Dan was tuning mine and only saw like 5.2 lbs on the big end...he literally asked if the blower was for decoration hahahaha not the first person to ask me that. I will tell you that even at 5-6 lbs when that 14-71 starts making boost it lets out the meanest most hellacious growl I've ever heard and it is amazing!! lol

You still around the 548 cu in range or did you go bigger with the rebuilds? I see you apparently swapped heads seeing that yours were for sale?? Sell the whipples and go back to a couple giant roots!!

Would be pretty b!tchin to do a twin roots setup like a quad rotor whipple....couple 8 or 10-71s on each motor....that'll make you sticker peck out!! lol

Toyed with the idea of doing port injection on mine and doing smaller injectors in the plate I posted earlier just to supplement cooling and lubrication for the blower but I figured 16 injectors is just over complicating it and could be a nightmare......

Wasn`t too bad , about $4k after selling the roots . Didn't realize that you had the same blowers I was looking at other than the inlet..rear versus top. I will tell you that even at 5-6 lbs when that 14-71 starts making boost it lets out the meanest most hellacious growl I've ever heard and it is amazing!! lol well then you`d be disappointed in the Whooples.

You still around the 548 cu in range or did you go bigger with the rebuilds? Triple nickle; 555ci now . I see you apparently swapped heads seeing that yours were for sale?? Sell the whipples and go back to a couple giant roots!! then i`d have no room for the tunell ran as the roots are too tall.

Think I would gain anything going with port injection? I assume to take full advantage it would have to be on a dyno to tune each hole correct?? I'm not opposed to it at all as I think it would look killer with injectors everywhere and lines at whatnot....I love that "mechanical" mean looking sh!t hahahaha
