Roots to whippleish quesitons
Currently running an injected 540 with a 14-71 at 5 lbs. Makes a grand on the dyno without breaking a sweat. Has anyone done the roots to roots style whipple conversion?? The W510R whipple is what I'm considering. Reason I am even looking is that a little more power and efficiency is never a bad thing and for the money if it works real world as they say it's not a terrible amount of money for a couple hundred ponies. I will never make the jump to a 15k actual whipple setup as I could never justify that cost for what I do with my boat. Only way to get rid of the roots style for me would be a quad rotor setup because well they look *****in hahaha. Just looking to see if anyone has done this swap and what are the good/bad/ugly of it. Thanks!

Did you forget I did that swap?
Is money burning a hole in your pocket?
Leave it alone. Not worth it.
I got your popcorn btw

Oh sh!t forgot all about that hahahaha....you didn't see much gain from the whipple roots deal? I couldn't remember if you actually ran it with that? I thought you went straight from the roots to the giant whipples you have now??

I am looking at upgrading my injection setup regardless of blower choice...hoping to reach out to dan for some advice since he will be tuning it hahaha...all in all I'm "happy" with the sniper just think I'm leaving power on the table since I can't monitor certain things and the single IAC has caused a few stalling issues when it's cool outside...thinking an injector plate with 8 injectors on top of the blower with dual throttle bodies and either a dominator or HP holley computer??

What is a Roots whipple? As far as I know there`s no such thing .It`s either a ROOTS style blower XX-71 or Whipple.
The Whipple supercharger is a subcategory of the twin-screw supercharger with two different rotors. The male rotor only has three lobes, while the female one has five. Roots blowers always have the identical number of lobes on both rotors—two, three, or four.
W510R is the blowers I have.(twin screw)

Holley ECM is great but what are we trying to accomplish? More power ? 1000hp not enough?
If you want more IAC control Whipple makes a dual iac with a harness two iacs to one plug.
I had good luck with the Holley terminator TBs , just keep in mind you`re starting pretty much over , new harness, new ecu, new TB`s... doesn`t seem worth it.

So yours are a rear entry from the looks of it...I was talking about the top entry version that is meant to be a drop in replacement for the roots blowers....as for the efi...I just want it to be a little more consistent. Runs great then it will hiccup a bit then stall then runs great again...just want to switch to a better system. Are you running all whipple efi stuff now or still holley stuff? injectors, ecm, etc?
So are you saying not to switch to the blowers you have? I'm not looking for huge gains just a little smoother operation....meaning switch to a serpentine style drive belt instead of the 8mm and not create the heat of a roots.
