Using a Man o War block and a slightly longer stroke than a normal 347 stroker crank I took my small block to 379ci. I call it 5.0ish. Based on a short deck small block. It's in a 95 mustang, last year of the 5.0 I wanted to keep it a 5.0! With a single 76mm turbo I'm making 820hp and 850ft pounds to the wheel.

This build is nothing extreme at all. (consider it a budget build) I originally bought the car back in 1995 when I was 21 and I have not driven the car in over 10yrs. When I purchased the car the only upgrades were a Superchip and a 4:10 posi. It was a blast and a little handful. 0-90 mph was always fun even with it's anemic 225HP. I'll have to admit I was Camaro guy until I purchased this car. The engine has been laying around the shop for 7yrs waiting for all of my boating projects to be completed. Seeing as I have never assembled a SBF before I asked my head/engine guy (Jim Valako) if he would assemble it for me.

Internals...
Stock block
Stock crank
H-Beam rods
DSS forged flat top pistons 9.7:1
Plasma Moly Zero Gap rings
Melling M68HV oil pump
Comp XE274HR
Comp Ultra Gold rockers 7/16 stud 1.6 ratio
Promaxx 180 heads ported and assembled by Valako
Pac Springs
Elgin hydraulic roller lifters
Single plane multi-port intake
1200 CFM throttle body
Holley Terminator X
Holley Dual Sync
Ram Powergrip clutch
Seimens 42lb injectors (Deka V)
From all of the dyno runs I have seen with this cam and upgraded heads the power seems to be 380-410HP. It really doesn't matter to me I just want to get it back on the road again even if it's only 250HP. I have a few Whipples laying around if I get bored with it.

The memories are coming flooding back!
Had another friend with a early fox body with an anemic 302, I'm sure he spun it out every time it rained!

I can remember when they first came out I took one out for a test drive, dealer didn't even go with me back then. They may have been "anemic" but at that time they were better then most and showed potential. The popular swap was a huge overbore 460 dropped in, sub frame connectors and mini tubs to get tires on them. Used to be pretty good street racers then.

Funny you mention spin out and memories. My memories of Fox body's will always be plagued by this below.

In 93 I started at a body shop and they had a Black 93 Cobra in there the owner tried to do a holeshot for his work buddies in the work parking lot. It got away from him and he bashed the hell out of it.
That car was in there 3 more times after that for the same type of schit.
He was the Proverbial "Mustang Guy"
There wasn't an original or non repaired panel on that car except the roof by the time he was done with it.

I never had a Fox but back in the mid-90s I had an 88 IROC with a 350 TPI and it was usually pretty close with the mildly modded 5.0s. Few years later got a '98 Cobra that was pretty fun too, if not all that quick.

Don't pay any attention to those posting rules in bottom left corner.
See below for uploading pic tutorial. Should take you directly to, if not scroll to post 17.
