Do you guys think that the Crane 139741 cam for ITTLFLI's 468" engine might be a little too large---especially for a blower engine? The 139741 cam is 236*/244* @.050" lift and normally comes with a 112* lobe seperation unless you special order it to have it ground on 114* lobes. I use those same duration numbers with a hydraulic roller in my 540" naturally aspirated engines. What do you guys think?

According to B&M, a wider LSA is better for blower applications.
They state that a 114 LSA is desireable. I don't know if 2 degrees,
will make that much difference. I am learning too.

Good info!! Keep it coming!
This project is some what cost sensitive. I am trying to use the parts I already have as far as carbs. I think I am leaning towards the crane 731 or 741.
Allan4's set-up with the 731 made the flatest TQ curve I have ever seen!
Anyone have a decent set of hy. roller lifters they want to sell?

KAMMA YOUR CAM IS PERFECT FOR YOUR RPM RANGE AND INCHS ,
ITTFLI-DON'T USE SOMEONES USED LIFTERS ,YOU JUST SAVING ALITTLE AND RISKING THE MOTOR ,THE MIGHT HAVE BEEN FLOATED OR ANYTHING JUST DON'T TAKE A CHANCE ,GET A GOOD NEW SET IF YOU NEED SOME PM ME I'LL PRICE YOU OUT AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE
THE 112 CAM WITH A BLOWER WORKS GREAT AND MAKES TONS OF POWER JUST DON'T GO ANY LOWER AS THE OVERLAP KILLS YOU

The longer the exhaust and intake are open at the same time, the more of "the useable" air/fuel mixture is blown out the tailpipe.
This is the reason B&M/Holley recommends the wider LSA of 114 degrees.
Less sooty black transom effect maybe?
The 112 degree LSA of the #731 and the #174 cams makes good sense to me in regards to future use.
I am in the thinking stages of removing my B&M 250 and going N/A. With the 112 LSA, this cam might be better as an all around cam in the event that you wanted to go N/A.
I am not sure of the other numbers (lift, etc.)of the #731 and the #741 have in regards to this application.
Any thoughts?

Talk to Dean Nickerson nickersonperformance.com in my previous 502 I had one of his blower cams in a natural 502...it worked great. It was a solid roller 252/[email protected] .680/.708 lift on a 114 CL. The ramps are mild on Dean's cams so they don't break parts.
