You can make all the calculated HP you want on the dyno and all the rpm but if you can't actually put that to use in the water with the correct prop none of it really matters.
I was hoping to see a comment like this.

Here is a comparison between LS engines (Black) and a 540 with a roots blower (Red) that use to push a 38 Cigarette around. TQ is not lacking.

Correct. 19lbs vs 7.5lbs.

The LS is on 89 Octane and the BBC was on Premium if I recall correctly.

Ok so then I guess my question would be how long that LS motor will last at 19lbs compared to 7.5.

Or how much power the 540 would make with that much boost.

I would like to know how much different that motor is compared to the LT4Base marine motor GM offers. You look at the GM performance web site and they have one you can buy for the street and one for marine that is sold to integrators but no details on the differences.

For me with a 30 foot boat two of those would be a blast in it.

Both were hydraulic rollers. The LS is pretty mild. 0.600” of lift at the valve. I set them up to run 300hrs between top ends.

Right now they have 200hrs on them. I have run 20lbs from Margaritaville to Dog days a few times. Anything above 75% throttle is full boost.

Just like any other marine engine they have been built to run at continuous maximum power output.

Ive said this before, but the only thing stock LS about these engines is the blocks. And they have been modified. Everything from the rings to the springs are what we run in marine big blocks, and those parts were selected with high output endurance in mind.

I understand nothing stock at that level nothing on a BBC is either. 200 hrs is pretty good at 1000+HP, not sure how many BBC's last much longer at that level. But I do not have a lot of personal experience, and most people I know at those levels are racing.

Bit of a different thing.

Don't you have these in a old Fountain race boat?
