Question Mecury/Merc Bravo One Impeller Kits VS Sierra water pump Kits?

Has anybody seen any difference between the Mercury/Merc Bravo One impeller kits and the Sierra kits?
Water pressure? not lasting as long?

Ive mainly always use the Merc kits? But the last few housings had diff markings/casting lines Etc.
I know you have to watch some dealers say it Merc then its come in a bag

Rob

PIK for looks

The Sierra one I picked up in a pinch seemed to have much softer rubber veins. They were much too easy to install. Next time out I replaced with Merc originals.
Almost every Sierra part I have bought the quality sucks

I wouldn't risk it. OEM only...

I just ALWAYS order mine from CPPerformance so I have a sense of comfort I’ve got genuine OEM. After almost sinking a boat when my shift cable boot that was Chinese knock off pulled off I quit trying to save money….

I saw lower water pressure with Sierra impellers by about five pounds. There was no negative affect on cooling.

I may want to run the Sierra for the lower WP if they last as long. I would be curious if the Sierra WP falls off later. I am using a crossover with some bypass right after the cooler that dumps on top of the drive. I have plenty of water for exhaust (Lightning) and still a pretty good stream of water from the bypass to top of drive. Maybe 2 to 5 PSI at idle 20 ish at crusie and 25 at WFO. I sized my bypass when I was using the old Globe blue impellers which did produce a little less pressure.

So as not to hijack this thread, the topic is different but the same- starting a new thread on Globe Impellers.

I've used Sierra and I think other knock-off brands. I think the pressure is slightly lower with non-mercury but at least with my engs. it has no effect on temps. I install new impellers and housings every spring and have never had a failure with any of them.
