A question for the PROP SHOP PEOPLE...

Kaama,
I'd have to agre with ric232 regarding the bow/stern lifting properties of the props.
The biggest cause of a lack of bow lift with customers seems to be a high x dimension. By raising the x dimension the bow lifting tendeny of the outdrive is reduced.
There are some things that can be done to increase or reduce the bow lifting tendency of a propeller but none of them are drastic, they really just fine tune the prop to the boat.
The best thing to do is to try different props and find the one that works best for you. We have test props just for this type of situation.
Always feel free to call or e mail with any questions.

Guys, if you can turn a 29 Mirage Plus whether its with a 1.5 or 1.3 ratio, you are haulin'. Our testing consistently shows that a 1.5 ratio with 29's will run 90+ and with 1.3 ratio, well over 100 MPH. The prop is more like a 31 and takes a pretty serious HP/Weight ratio to turn it. If your boat likes 3 blade props, I urge you to seriously consider 27 and 29 Mirage Plus props. If your boat will get on plane reasonably with a 3 blade, the 27 will most times out run a 30 Bravo at top end, but as others have noted, mid range is short by as much as 5 mph. The Mirages don't seem to make up the difference until you get above 4700 rpms.
