Ron, I finally got my drive back together. Gimbal ring seemed to tighten up ok. Thanks again for the trick swivel shaft, parts and advice. I'm still trying to round up some "bad" gimbal rings. May have one repaired for a spare when i find a few more to ship to you. Anyone else servicing a bravo drive? Talk to Ron first. His Upper Swivel Shaft is far superior to Mercruiser's, and at a fairer price!

Ron,

Though I don't appear to have a problem with the drive now, I would like to research upgrading the weak link in the Bravo I. My engine should be in the 625+ HP range. The boat is a 24' @ approximately 4000#. Currently spinning a 29P Mirage, but I might swith to a 4 blade.

What parts do you recommend upgrading and what is the cost?
Thanks

useing a standard bravo1 theirs not much you can do to beef up the drive.i would consider xr's or imco's.personally i think b-max's are too much over kill. drives with towers in them will be the best way to go.i would wait and see what happens with your drives. if they break then try something stronger.i have 3 imco's used if you need. ron
