Default Drive Alignment???

I know that the drive should be aligned periodically but for what reason other than getting grease to the drive shaft u-joints? How would you know if it were out of alignment? I get a vibration sometimes as I am pulling the stick back and coming off plane, anyone else? I am going to have this service done with 150hrs but was wondering what the whole thing is about Thanks

If the engine mounts get loose then the alignment of the engine to the boat and drive will change. If that happens then you will soon lose a drive coupling that costs about $180 and You have to pull the engine to replace it. The vibration you are feeling may be caused by loose engine mounts or poor alignment. I pull my drives and check my alignment every year.
