I have heard so much hype about this motor on A.P.B.A. Speedvision events. What is up with it? When will they be available to the public? What about pricing? I have had no luck with getting any real information on the availabilty of this motor.
I have found information regarding specs, but that is about it.

It's basically, a 496 Mag HO(HP2) with a few minor upgrades like exhaust, cam and some computer mods. The program is still in the 'proving' stages according to GM, which is jointly working with the APBA as a proving grounds...Look for the engines to become available soon. But you're right, there's very little public spec. info available today.

There was a booth at the LA boat show selling them for roughly $19,000.00, that's $12,000.00 less than the Merc guys were quoting for the 525. They also told me that starting next month they would come standard with a 2 yr warranty injstead of 12 months. Unfortunately I do not remember who's booth it was, it may have been GM's, all they had were Vortech engines. Somone else must have seen the same booth and may be able to tell you.
