Cant really remember exactly but with a modified 7.4 about 425 hp I would spin the 24" Hydro near 5000 rpm and it would almost run 70 on the GPS. The smaller diameter really helped the boat in the accelleration dept. The 15.5 ran about the same speed but felt sluggish. Dropped a ZZ502 in the boat and spun a 27" Mirage Plus just over 5000 rpm for a scary upper 70's ride.

I woud say the 24 Hydro Q-4 is closer to a 25" Mirage than a 25" Mirage plus. The pluses have a little more cup in the blades and from my experience this makes then seem to have a little more pitch.

It came that way. The guy at Hydro recommended it to me after I wasnt happy with the standard Q-4 I had purchased.

I also have a 24" Hydromotive right hand that you can buy if you like. It has a diameter of 14.75" instead of the standard 15.5" that Hydro normaly uses. This 14.75" prop worked better on my last boat, 22 Scarab, than the larger 15.5" version.

do you still have the 24 hydro Im looking for one

Can you make a stock Mirage plus into an ACCLERATOR? How would rpm's compare to a B1 26?

RJ. Off the prop subject & on the zz502 subject.
Did you put it in right out of the crate? No mods?
If so,how has it been & would you recommend it
over a H-P 500?

Yes, someone from this board contacted Hydromotive and was told that the test prop was blueprinted and tweaked to the hilt. From what I understand, Hydromotive, being as honest as they are, was a little upset that Family & Performance Boating Mag did not mention this in the article.
