Hopefully somebody can help me here, I have a 1998 Glastron with the 4.3 V-6 (For Sale by the way) The problem is the trim gauge quit working. Every once in a while it will work for about second. Where would a good place to start checking??? any help would be appreciated.

1. Trim limit senders on the outdrive. You'll have to pull the drives to install them correctly.
2. Loose connections on the back of the guage.

Trace the wires from the interior transom plate. There should be two sets of black wire (looks like extention cord). One goes to your trim pump the other goes directly to your wire harness. Disconnect the one set that goes to your wire harness and jumper a few times. If the meter jumps from full down to full up then it is the sensor.

If it is the sensor it can be a SOB to replace. If the sensor is encapsulated, then I would cut the wires out side solder and srink wrap the wires for a water tight seal.

Good Luck

I would start by checking the connections in the back of the guage and the "extention cords" as well.
