Bo you said it right Teague and his silly puddy !! no don't wipe the gasket with thinner unless its copper !!don't put silly cone on it as most likly its weeping between the thin layers of the gasket
you have got to get the pressure down with the plumbing ,,,,you may need a bigger dump I don't know how yours is rigged but 30 is to much and 85 is crazy ,please fix it ,e-mail me how its plumbed ,(draw it) I'll gladly try and help

if am not mistaken it goes from the transom to the sea strainer that is where the presure relief is the to the sea pump and out the exhaust there is one on the other side just for the innercooler
two seperatre wate systems both transom mounted

You need a valve that can handle more volume. I believe Garry Grimes water dumps would work for you. He designed them to blow off pressure spikes quickly. His number is 770-475-5272. He is very willing to share information. I think on the race boats he used two valves. One is run off the sea strainer and the other just after the coolers before the water enters the engine.

Good luck,
Dan

Default I second that on the Grimes valve

I got one and it works like a champ.
You need all 1.25" dump hoses with a min. of 1" id. The valve is key also. Must be big enough to handle the quick pressure.
