Unhappy Steering Frozen

I have a 1978 Sea Ray 165 HP I/O and the steering cable appears to be frozen. No $$$$ for new cable. Any suggestions???

What is the length on your cable? I just pulled one out of my Formula that is fine (going full hydrolic). If it will work it is all yours.

About $130 for new at West Marine.
Find out the length and check E-bay.
I've seen a lot there.
