Fuel Pump Wiring..Please Help
HI All, trying to wire a Holley "Red" Pump on my 454 mag. Because of the stringer setup there is no way I can mount a oil pressure saftey switch without pulling the motor. Is there anyone out there running electric pumps without the switches?? Can it be done saftely?? If so it looks like I have 2 options running the "hot" form the starter to the Starter Circuit or to the Coil....any sugestions would be greatly appreciated...It is the only thing keeping me from the water tomorrow!! also I am using 14 guage wire...is that big enough??
What are the disadvantages of no saftey switch??
Thanks

DON'T RUN WITHOUT THE SAFETY SWITCH!!!
If you have a fire, the fuel pump will add gasoline to the fire untill the electicity to it stops. If you have a safety switch, it will stop when the engine stops. If you will call me at 704-574-4020 I will talk you through the install.

You can utilize the oil port on the back left side of the motor just behind the intake manifold.
That will be an easy spot to get to.
I agree with blown 1500, DON'T go without the safety switch!!!
