Im installing an IMCO single ram bracket on my new drive. There is a piece that has a ball bearing and a spring. What kind of grease should I use on this. Obviously it is there to apply tension but I dont have it apart yet so Im not sure what it is riding up against.
On another post I was told to torque bolts between 18-22lbs. Should I use Lock Tite?
Any pionters or anything else I should know?

I just installed my IMCO steering this weekend. I used the Mercruiser Teflon grease (it's in a tube - greenish in color) per a boat mechanic friend on the ball and spring. I only used the loctite on the two bolts that had to be drilled and taped in the upper outdrive case (nerve-racking process drilling the case - afraid I'd crack it). I didn't use loctite on the 3 stock bolts because it didn't look like there was any on there to begin with.
